Privacy policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

RUENCE is a house built in India and made for the world. This policy explains what personal data RUENCE collects when you use this storefront, why it is collected, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you hold over it.

RUENCE is operated by SIGNATURE FVSHION PRIVATE LIMITED (Corporate Identity Number U14101TS2026PTC216292), referred to here as "RUENCE", "we", or "us". The storefront is powered by Shopify, the commerce platform that hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf.

RUENCE processes personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules 2011. This policy is written in plain language. Where a legal term carries a precise meaning, that term is used and explained.

For any question about your personal data, or to exercise a right described in this policy, write to privacy@ruence.com. The contact for grievance redressal is set out in section 13.

1. The personal data RUENCE collects

RUENCE collects personal data in the categories below, depending on how you use the storefront.

  • Account data. The name, email address, password, and any saved preferences you provide when you create an account.
  • Order data. The billing details, shipping address, items purchased, order history, and the record of the transaction.
  • Contact data. The name, email address, and message content you send when you reach RUENCE through the contact panel or by email.
  • Marketing data. The email address and consent state you provide when you subscribe to RUENCE updates, along with a record of when consent was given or withdrawn.
  • Device data. Information about the device, browser, and network you use, including your IP address and similar identifiers, collected automatically when you visit the storefront.
  • Usage and behavioral data. Information about how you interact with the storefront, including the pages you view, the items you view or add to your cart, and how you navigate the store. RUENCE collects this so the storefront works, so it can be improved, and so the shopping experience can be made relevant to you. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in section 7, and the non-essential part runs only after you agree.

RUENCE does not ask you to provide sensitive personal data such as financial account credentials. Payment card details are entered directly with the payment processor and are not stored by RUENCE.

2. Where the personal data comes from

RUENCE collects personal data from three sources.

  • Directly from you, when you create an account, place an order, subscribe, or contact RUENCE.
  • Automatically from your device, when you visit the storefront, through cookies and similar technologies (section 7).
  • From the service providers that run parts of the storefront on RUENCE's behalf, described by category in section 5.

3. Lawful basis for processing

RUENCE processes your personal data on the lawful bases set out in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

  • Consent. RUENCE relies on your consent for marketing communications and for any cookie that is not strictly necessary. You may withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.
  • Performance of a contract. RUENCE processes account data and order data because it is necessary to take, fulfil, and support your order.
  • Legitimate uses permitted by law. RUENCE processes a limited set of data to keep the storefront secure, to prevent fraud, and to meet legal and tax obligations.

Where RUENCE relies on consent, you are given a clear notice describing the personal data being collected and the purpose, and you choose whether to agree.

4. How RUENCE uses your personal data

  • To provide the storefront. To take and fulfil your order, manage your account, arrange shipping, handle returns and exchanges, and provide customer support.
  • To improve the storefront. To understand how the store is used and to make it work better, using usage and behavioral data and analytics.
  • For marketing, with your consent. To send updates and offers by email where you have asked to hear from RUENCE, and to show you relevant RUENCE content. You can opt out at any time through the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • For security and fraud prevention. To authenticate your account, keep payment and checkout secure, and detect or prevent fraud and misuse.
  • For legal reasons. To meet legal and tax obligations and to respond to valid legal process.

5. Who receives your personal data

RUENCE shares personal data only with the parties it needs to in order to run the storefront, and only to the extent required. RUENCE describes most parties by category rather than by company name so the description stays accurate as providers change.

  • Shopify, the commerce platform that hosts this storefront and processes order and account records. See section 6 for how Shopify processes your data.
  • The payment processor that handles your payment. Your card details are entered with the processor directly.
  • Shipping and logistics partners that carry your order and need the shipping address and contact details to deliver it.
  • Email and marketing service providers that help RUENCE send transactional and consented marketing messages.
  • Analytics providers that help RUENCE understand how the storefront is used, including measuring traffic and behavior on the store.

RUENCE does not sell your personal data. Where a provider processes data on RUENCE's behalf, it is bound to use it only for the agreed purpose and to protect it with reasonable security practices. RUENCE may also disclose personal data where required to comply with the law, to respond to valid legal process, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

6. Shopify and international data transfer

This storefront is hosted by Shopify. When you use the store, the personal data you provide is transmitted to and processed by Shopify so that Shopify can provide and improve the storefront for RUENCE and for you. Shopify processes this data on servers that may be located outside India.

Because the storefront runs on Shopify and on other service providers (section 5), your personal data may be transferred to, stored on, and processed on servers in countries other than the one you live in, including outside India. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 permits the transfer of personal data outside India except to countries the Government of India restricts. Where RUENCE transfers personal data internationally, it works with providers that commit to protecting it with reasonable security practices.

7. Cookies, device data, and behavioral tracking

This storefront uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working, hold your cart, and remember your consent choice. Non-essential cookies, including those used for analytics and for relevant marketing, run only after you accept them on the cookie-consent banner.

The banner offers a clear choice: accept or reject non-essential cookies. If you reject, the strictly necessary cookies still run because the storefront cannot work without them, but the analytics and marketing cookies do not. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the same banner, and the storefront honors the choice you set there. Through these technologies the storefront collects device data and usage and behavioral data (section 1) so it can function, so it can be measured and improved, and so RUENCE can show you content that is relevant to you.

8. How long RUENCE keeps your personal data

RUENCE keeps personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires.

  • Account data is kept while your account is active. When you close your account, RUENCE erases or anonymizes the data unless a legal obligation requires it to be kept longer.
  • Order data is kept for the period required by tax and commercial law in India, then erased or anonymized.
  • Contact data is kept for as long as needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterward.
  • Marketing data is kept until you withdraw consent, after which the record of withdrawal is kept to honor your choice.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you hold the following rights over your personal data. RUENCE will act on a request within the period the law allows.

  • The right to access. You may ask for a summary of the personal data RUENCE holds about you and how it is processed.
  • The right to correction. You may ask RUENCE to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete, and to update data that is out of date.
  • The right to erasure. You may ask RUENCE to erase personal data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
  • The right to withdraw consent. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place while consent was in force.
  • The right to grievance redressal. You may raise a grievance about how your personal data is handled with the RUENCE grievance contact in section 13, before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.
  • The right to nominate. You may nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any right, write to privacy@ruence.com.

10. Children's data

The storefront is built for adult customers, and RUENCE does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, where a customer is below 18, the consent to process their personal data must be given by a parent or lawful guardian, and RUENCE does not use a child's data for tracking or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal data to RUENCE, write to privacy@ruence.com and it will be deleted.

11. How RUENCE protects your personal data

RUENCE follows reasonable security practices and procedures as required by the Information Technology Rules 2011. Access to personal data is limited to the people and providers who need it, and it is transmitted over secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfect, and RUENCE cannot guarantee absolute security. RUENCE works to protect your data with reasonable safeguards and is not liable for loss arising from events beyond its reasonable control, but it will act in good faith to contain and resolve any issue that arises. You also help keep your account safe by keeping your login details private.

12. Data breach

If a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, RUENCE will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and will tell you what happened, what data was involved, and the steps RUENCE is taking and that you can take. RUENCE works to detect, contain, and resolve breaches promptly.

13. Grievance redressal and contact

In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology Rules 2011, RUENCE has a single point of contact to receive and resolve concerns about personal data.

RUENCE acknowledges grievances within the period required by law and works to resolve them promptly. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

14. Changes to this policy

RUENCE may update this policy as the storefront, the law, or RUENCE's practices change. When RUENCE makes a material change, it updates the date recorded in the draft and, where appropriate, tells you directly.
